Having decided yesterday that I wasn’t using the car, it was clear that if I was going anywhere it was going to be on foot. I suppose I might have “let the train take the strain” but I was frankly uninspired in terms of destination and hence apathetic about the whole idea.
According to the local media and backed up by MetCheck we are apparently due to be deluged with water from the skies later this afternoon. So I think I’ll stay indoors and wait for the rain to come.
We so rarely get proper weather in the UK. I still remember as a child sitting on a concrete balcony at 2am in a country then called Yugoslavia watching lightening arcing across the horizon accompanied by echoing bass rich thunder and rain so heavy it looked almost like a sheet of water rather than individual drops.
I’ll bet all we get today is light drizzle. I really think the last thing I want today is drizzle. Maybe drizzle is all I deserve.
